Debra Kerr with Corky Allen Sprague

Picture
Corky is a male Mini-Dachshund, 7½ years old, weighing 5 lbs.

I have a prescription for my dog, who is a service animal. Without your help, I would not be able to maintain the well-being of my dog, Corky. I am on a very low pension, and the program is vital to me and my dog’s wellness.

Derek Carbone with Joey

Picture
My favorite dog, Joey, is my best friend. He has so many breeds in him that it is hard to actually define his true breed. It means the world to me to get free food for my dog at the food bank and to be able to feed him when he gets hungry. My dog is a happy dog which makes me happy.

Nancy Zatkoff with Chewy

My dogs are my babies, and I love them very much.  And this dog food means a lot to me and my babies.  If not for this food, sometimes they wouldn’t eat.  I appreciate this food as well they do especially when they are hungry.

Laura E. Gibney with Priscella

Picture
Priscilla is a female Chihuahua, 6 years old, weighing 6 lbs.

I was a rancher since birth, three generations of Shannons worked the land in Trinity County, near the Buttes.  Our animals were ALWAYS outside animals.  My husband, the love of my life, and I were married 58 years before he died.  I was devastated and a friend asked me to help her with her dad.  After a while, he asked me how much I wanted a beautiful honey colored small dog with beautiful ears, eyes and a heart.  I was taking care of him and we got along beautifully.  I told him, “God loves you and I do too.”
He said, “ Do you want her?”  I said that “ I couldn’t pay you $100 let alone $150.  He said, “I didn’t ask you that.  Would you like to have her," and I said, "Yes."

Pat Carter and Jean Brust with Zeba

Picture
Zeba is a female Jack Russell mix, 5 years old, weighing 30 lbs.

We love our little dog.  She is a great companion.  That companionship means a lot to us.  She is just like our child, but on a limited income, getting food and flea and tick treatment can mean not paying a bill.  Without this program of food and flea treatment at the food bank, it would mean that we would both go without food at the end of the month.
